Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot

Remember, remember the fifth of November!
Why should we remember this date? Watch one of the high quality BBC videos about this event in the history of Britain. When and where did it take place? And what exactly happened? Search for more information and report about your findings.

  1. This video is absolutely overwhelming! The idea to intermingle the historical information and the modern view is fantastic!

There are actually two sides of the coin in the story about Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot. On the one hand, we should speculate about terrorism and assassinations. But on the other hand, it makes sense to highlight the bravery and loyalty of Guy Fawkes and the betrayal of his companions.

Also, I realised that it's not fair to reckon that Fawkes was a notoriously bad guy. Consequently, the ritual of burning the effigy isn't worth anything!

So, I wish all the people celebrating the 4th of November could at least consult the Internet and find out more about this holiday and, maybe, change their minds.
