People in many countries honor their educators. UNESCO declared October 5 the World Teachers' Day. There are some national holidays to celebrate teachers' contribution to the progress of our societies. In the USA May 7 is National Teacher Day which is Tuesday of the first full week in May - Teacher appreciation week. Students, their parents and all people want to thank teachers who made a difference in their lives. Don't they deserve it?

That's extraordinarily great that people all over the world celebrate such an outstanding event as Teacher's day. In our school it's annualy celebrated at the beginning of October and it includes the self-governing school day. As far as I know, our school is the only one which practises this and it implies that we are kind of special. There is not so much to deal with arranging another yet day-off or just showing off. There is more to deal with demonstrating students' respect to teachers and their ability to support and inspire teachers all the year round. It's curious to find out that this holiday takes a worthy place in almost 80 countries, besides some of them cannot boast of a high level of their educational system yet. These results speak for themselves, don't they? Regardless of of a place one lives in or a school they go to, teachers' merits are priceless. Judging by my own experience, I wouldn't be the person I am now but for my teachers, their advice and contribution to my life. It's unfeasible to imagine what our life could be without teachers. The wise say that teachers' work is never done. I can't agree more! So, on behalf of all students, let me congratulate you on this marvellous holiday! All teachers perform magical things every day by teaching pupils and giving them a fine line in life. THANK YOU!!!
